Hot News

Next Guild meeting 24 September features Herb, Grain Flower, Veg wines: review member wines from this year's Jo Illian Wineshow Class.

Welcome

logoCome share your passion for wine with local artisans of the craft of home winemaking!!

Many activities are on tap in the next few months.  At our regular meetings, we share our knowledge and skills in the assessment and the crafting of home wines, both grape wines and country wines, with assistance given by professional winemakers/educators.   We have a major social/educational winery and food/craft weekender coming up in October when we visit some of Victoria’s rich wine and food countryside.

Keep posted here for regular news updates on our 41st home wine show to be held in November – (Australia’s biggest amateur wine show).  We look forward to entries from members and non-members alike.

Eltham and Frankston Guilds are committed not only to grape winemaking, but also to country wine making, and a report on a review of this class is likely to be available in July.  It is expected to set out Judging standards for country wine and to recommend some new show classes including a hybrid class that combines grape and country wines. The Show’s major award this year is of the best wine made from vegetables, flowers, herbs or grains.

Make sure you review our grape, country and sparkling winemaking guides.

The Guild is strongly committed to the responsible consumption of alcohol.

Our website continues to expand and will include richer offerings, so make sure you stay tuned over the next months.
